Safeguarding

KMT believes that everyone deserves safety and a life free from abuse, harm and harassment.

Safeguarding training is undertaken regularly and the safeguarding policy is
reviewed as required.

Everyone who works with KMT is registered with regulatory bodies and has an enhanced DBS check.

When working within other organisations we follow their safeguarding procedures.

Privacy, Insurance and Data Protection

KMT is registered with the Information Commissioners Office and every team member holds their own registration. Great care is taken in protecting your personal information and it is not sold or passed on to third parties.

KMT holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Please
contact KMT via email to see copies.

Our privacy policy is reviewed regularly and training is completed
to remain GDPR compliant.

Risk Assessments

All risks within the work are considered to ensure the safety of people engaged
with the service and delivering the service. A risk assessment is created for each
individual accessing music therapy sessions. When working within other organisations we follow their risk assessment procedures.

More information can be found in our health and safety policy.

Evaluation and Development

The wider service provision is evaluated by everyone involved in the work. The goal is to create a service within the community for the community. Complacency is the most dangerous position to be and we review our services on a regular basis.

Individual reports can also be completed to help you track your journey and help apply for additional funding.

To maintain registration as a music therapist it is a requirement to attend clinical supervision with another practitioner. Clinical supervision allows a music therapist to think about their work and ensure they are doing the best job for you.

Additionally, it is a further requirement to attend a continuing professional development record to keep up with the changes within the profession. We attend various courses over the year, which are related to the clients we work with or the wider profession.

Complaints

KMT is committed to acting upon every complaint received. Let’s work together to find solutions and improve. Your first point of call will be Victoria as the director of services.

If you would like to complain externally, please refer to the whistleblowing section in the safeguarding policy or the privacy policy.
