Our Services

No previous experience is required to engage with music therapy. Music therapy is not about becoming the world's next biggest music star, but please let us have VIP tickets to your concerts if you do!

Individual Sessions

  • Our individual sessions are designed for those who would like to work on specific social, emotional, physical or communication therapy goals.

  • Sessions can be accessed in-person or online and they last between 30-60 minutes.

  • Sessions can be delivered at our main hub within Your Music School Canterbury or where possible we can travel to your home, school or communal meeting point.

  • For individual sessions we usually meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

  • We can deliver sessions in blocks with reviews and reports to meet funding and assessment needs.

Group Sessions

  • We deliver group sessions where a group is already established in settings such as schools, community groups and care homes.

  • We also create groups and collaborate with other professionals. Check out our events page for upcoming groups.

  • Sessions can be accessed in-person or online and they vary in length depending on the aims of the group.

  • We run closed groups for a limited number of people where it is expected that the same people continue to attend the group. Closed groups are usually designed for working on specific therapeutic hopes that participants have in common.

  • We run open groups where more participants can attend in a drop-in style. Open groups are usually designed for working on general therapeutic hopes.

  • Sessions can be delivered at our main hub within Your Music School Canterbury or where possible we can travel to your home, school or communal meeting point.

  • For group sessions we usually meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly or can offer a single one-off session.

  • We can deliver sessions in blocks with reviews and reports to meet funding and assessment needs.

Assessment Packages

  • Our assessment package is aimed at those who need to provide a report for funders, local authority or other governing bodies.

  • It can also be added onto initial blocks of music therapy sessions to assess whether music therapy is right for the person receiving services.

  • Our assessment package includes a meeting with the parent / carer / guardian or we may come together for one meeting as a network. After the meeting, the person will receive one in-person music therapy session and a final report will be produced.

  • This process helps us to create a unique plan for the person receiving services and offers a space for the network to reflect upon the best way forward.

Clinical Supervision

  • We deliver individual and group sessions either in-person or online for a maximum of two hours. We can meet meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly or can offer a single one-off session depending on your needs.

  • Clinical supervision is aimed at mental heath and healthcare professionals as part of their standards of practice to register for a professional body such as HCPC or BACP.

  • We also offer non-clinical supervision, which is a reflective space for exploration, growth, discussing dilemmas and improving resilience and emotional wellbeing in the workplace. These groups are aimed at professionals in community facing roles such as teachers or professionals within the wider team who may be impacted by the work.

  • We run closed groups for a limited number of people where it is expected that the same people continue to attend the group. Closed groups are usually designed for smaller teams within similar roles. We run open groups where more participants can attend in a drop-in style. Open groups are usually designed for working on general themes within the workplace.

  • Victoria’s model of supervision is based upon Seven Tasks of Supervision (Carroll, 1996) and The Seven Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet, 2012). This helps to provide a structured framework to focus on different aspects of relationships. â€‹â€‹

  • In our supervision together, there is an opportunity to engage in multimodal creative practices to deepen your reflections.

Therapy Dog

  • Syd is our very own in house trained therapy dog. Syd loves nothing more than giving plenty of cuddles. He is calm, gentle and very affectionate.

  • Syd can be part of music therapy sessions or workshops for an extra wellbeing boost at no additional cost.
